Season in Sarasota begins! Welcome back Snowbirds!!!

January 2 – 6 to 9pm – Lakewood Ranch Music on Main St. (1st Friday of each month)

January 2 – 6 to 9pm – First Friday Art Walk on Palm Ave.  Galleries are open with artists on hand and music on the street.

January 2 – 3:00 PM at Perlman Music Program at the Sarasota Opera House and January 3,perlmanmusicprogram 2015 @ 5 pm: Celebration Concert

January 2 – 8pm – Vanessa Williams at the Van Wezel

January 2 & every Friday Jazz at 2 to 4pm.

Through January 11 – “Behind Closed Doors” at the Ringling Museum.  Art in the Spanish American Home 1492 to 1898.  Explore the private lives and interiors of Spain’s colonial elite from Christopher Columbus to the Spanish American war.

January 5 to 25 – Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story at the Venice Theatre

youth opera 2January 6, 5:30 to 7pm – January 8, 5:30 to 7pm.  Families are invited to see what Sarasota Youth Opera has to offer. Ages 8 to 18.

January 7th Caberet at the Players Theatre –

January 8 to 11 – Thunder by the Bay! Benefitting Suncoast Charities for Children.  Jan 8 is the sporting clay tournament, at Knight’s Trail Park in Nokomis and “Born To Be Wild” Kickoff Party at The Francis Ballroom in downtown Sarasota, live music with John Rinell “The Voice of Solid Gold”.  A “Food Truck Round-Up” is scheduled at the Sarasota County Fairgrounds featuring live music by Shotgun Justice…

January 10th & 11th. – A two day downtown festival on Main Street in Sarasota.  Continuous live music featuring 80’s classic rock. Bands scheduled to perform include Full Circle, Category Three, Rockit Fly, Stormbringer, Dyersburg, Lazy Bonez, with Special Guest the Bobby Friss Band performing Saturday and Headliner Great White performing on Sunday. Also, on Sunday, “Cruise for Cash” motorcycle charity ride.

January 6, 7:30 – The Beach Boys at the Van Wezel beach boys

January 6 to April 11 – The Matchmaker – comedy at the Asolo Repmatchmaker

January 7 to Feb 8 – Knock me a Kiss at the West Coast Black Theatre Troupe

January 9 to 11 – In Love – Sarasota Orchestra

Through January 11 – Parallel Universes at the Art Center – open media.

January 15, 5 to 8pm – Ringling by the Bay – Kettle of Fish at the Ringling Museum – included with Art After 5 admission.

January 16, 6 to 10pm – 3rd Friday Art walk with Music at Towles Court Artist Colony

January 16, 7:30 An evening of swinging Jazz with Eddie Metz, Jr Trio with Nicki Parrott,rossano nikki eddie jazz Rossano Sportiello & Eddie Metz, Jr. at Riverview HS Performing Arts center.

January 16 & 17 – Pops – Sarasota Orchestra –

January 10, 17, 24, 31 – 1 & 3pm Family workshop at the Ringling – a hands on experience for children ages 4 – 10 accompanied by an adult. $5.
