Benderson Development now owns side-by-side buildings in the heart of the Siesta Key Village.
The company in January, according to records, purchased the property at 5214 Ocean Blvd. for $1.8 million. The mixed-use building, which boasts 9,458 square feet, houses the Bonjour French Cafe, which occupies 2,141 square feet.
The rest of the building features two additional retail spaces and four vacant apartments. The premises has 16 parking spaces and sits on .31 acres.
The seller is SRQ Ocean Blvd., LLC.
The future use of the building is undetermined, according to Thie Raynal, owner of Bonjour French Cafe.
“I haven’t been told anything,” he said. “I don’t know yet.”
The business began in 2012, Raynal said, and he bought it and signed a lease at the Village location in 2018.
A new, adjusted six-year lease would follow, and year one of that lease ends at the end of 2022, with five more years remaining, he said.
Next door, at 5212 Ocean Blvd., sits another Benderson acquisition made in December. It is home to four storefronts, one of which is currently vacant. The businesses operating there are $10 Jewelry Market, Coral and Reef Boutique, and Studio Yooga.
Benderson did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
Benderson is the mega-developer that currently has underway the early stages of the Siesta Promenade project at the northwest corner of U.S. 41 and Stickney Point Road. It will bring 414 apartments, a 130-room hotel, and 14,000 square feet of retail space to the parcel.
