Sen. Joe Gruters has announced that a joint town hall meeting with the Sarasota County Legislative Delegation and Save Siesta Key has been set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8.
The event is open to the public and will be held at Siesta Key Chapel, 4615 Gleason Ave. Its purpose is to discuss the possibility of incorporation for Siesta Key.
The delegation must vote in support of a bill seeking incorporation before it could be examined by the Florida State Legislature, which convenes in January. The delegation is likely to vote on the matter at a scheduled meeting at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, at the Sarasota County Administrative Center, 1660 Ringling Blvd.
