Calle Miramar hotel workshop is Jan. 9

A Sarasota County-mandated neighborhood workshop regarding a proposed seven-story, 163-room hotel for Calle Miramar near the Siesta Key Village has been set for 6 p.m. Jan. 9.

It will be hosted via Zoom by the engineering firm of Kimley-Horn.

Realtor Robert Anderson’s proposed hotel was the first to gain county approval in late 2021 but it was overturned by a judge’s ruling in August of 2023. For this second process, the size has been scaled back from the original proposal of eight stories and 170 rooms. It sits on 0.96 acres of land between Calle Miramar and Beach Road.
