After 37 years, owner John Cannon informed Siesta Sand, of the closing of his Coconuts Outlet Store in the corner of Captain Curt’s Plaza, directly behind Captain Curt’s restaurant.

A Siesta Key favorite for years, families have been shopping at Coconuts Outlet Store for generations. You’ll still be able to shop at their Coconuts main store, next to Crescent Beach Grocery, which will remain open.

The store will be closing the end of September. Everything must go, Clothing/Bags/Jewelry/Crocs- $5 $10 $20 and 50% off racks – Open Daily 10-6. Located at 1218 Old Stickney Point Road, Siesta Key in Captain Curt’s Plaza.

Siesta Sand questioned Cannon to reason for the closing of the Outlet Store. Cannon responded, “We are closing mostly due to our lease not being renewed and that Captain Curt’s would like to expand their new coffee shop offerings.”

Cannon went on to say, “This location was the original store that my wife Rosemary opened in 1982 under the name Siesta Sand Castle and was then changed to Coconuts in 1986 when I became involved in the business and we also opened stores in Siesta Key Village and on Long Beach Island  at the New Jersey shore for 20 years. It is bittersweet closing this location but it is almost a blessing in disguise because we are ready to slow down and have just the one location now across the street next to Crescent Beach Grocery. Many thanks to all our wonderful friends and customers that have supported us over the years. We also wish the Stewart family all the best as they move forward to the latest expansion in Captain Curt’s Village.”
