County seeking infrastructure input

Author: Share:

Whether it’s fire stations, bridges, roads, sidewalks, libraries, or parks, Sarasota County wants your thoughts regarding its next phase of infrastructure improvements at one of its surtax meetings.

Feel free to comment on what you think the county needs, where it should go, and why it’s important.

The next meeting that’s closest to Siesta Key is at Gulf Gate Public Library, 7112 Curtiss Ave., from 6 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 29.

The surtax represents 1% above the 6% sales tax. From its collection, 25% goes toward schools and 75% goes toward municipalities. Whether to keep it alive will be on the November 2022 general election ballot.

Siesta Beach is one of them, which Sarasota County Commissioner Christian Ziegler called the “No. 1 public park in the county.”
