More than 300 couples gathered on Siesta Beach to celebrate Valentine’s Day at the 15th annual Say “I Do” Again sunset ceremony.
Brides in white dresses and veils mingled with grooms in top hats as families and friends joined in the celebration. Couples marked milestones ranging from 10 and 20 years of marriage to 40 and 50 years — and beyond.
Under sunny skies, participants posed for photos and enjoyed the festive atmosphere. Couples traveled from across the Siesta Key area, throughout the United States and from abroad. A group of six friends from British Columbia, Ontario and Great Britain returned to take part in the tradition.
“We’ve been here before and it’s such fun,” said Geoffrey Rhoades of England.
Anne and Frank Mosomillio, Sarasota residents formerly of Long Island, New York, celebrated their 20th anniversary wearing matching T-shirts. Anne completed her outfit with a bridal veil and tiara.
“It came from Amazon,” she said with a laugh.
Their best man and maid of honor, Steven and Annemarie Citarella of Massapequa Park, New York, wore sashes marking their roles.
Presented by Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources, the non-denominational ceremony concluded at sunset as Judge Stephen Walker led couples in renewing their vows of commitment and love.
