Sarasota County’s commissioners have expressed interest in exploring the restoration of Midnight Pass (the former waterway between Siesta Key and Casey Key that allowed natural flow between the Gulf of Mexico and Little Sarasota Bay), and they will receive a presentation on the subject from Dr. David Tomasko, executive director of the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program, during their April 11 meeting.
It begins at 9 a.m. at the county’s Administrative Center, 1660 Ringling Blvd., in downtown Sarasota.
