Flag Ceremony

Author: Share:

In honor of Captain Ralph Styles (a Decorated WWII Submarine Captain in the Pacific Theater), who began this Tribute Ceremony about 30 years ago—

Each sunset our community comes together with new friends from around the world, now at Siesta Key Public Access #2, at 10 Beach Road as we now say: “Welcome to Patriots Pier at Sunset Point! We thank you for joining our nightly tribute to honor the sacrifices of our military and service personnel in protecting our country and our freedoms! We are the land of the Free because of the Brave!”

This month we would like to honor two very special patriots for their dedication and service who join and help lead us in our nightly ceremonies carrying on these traditions!

Annie Styles the daughter of Captain Ralph Styles is always ready to lead us in the pledge and help fold the Flag and also provide us with ideas from her memories of prior ceremonies!

And with 30 years of service–Army Veteran Ray Paugh, a snowbird from Ohio who during his time here serves us nightly as Honor Guard to recruit helpers to assist him to fold the flag!

We salute them for their dedication and service!
