Gulf Gate block party benefits food bank

The Gulf Gate community is holding a pajama block party from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 27. Show up in your best holiday-themed PJs and join the fun. It benefits All Faiths Food Bank.

There will be a 50/50 raffle, trivia, games, and music. It takes place in the 6600 block of Superior Avenue.

Beachcombers will have reason to ‘shellabrate’

The annual Shell Show hosted by the Sarasota Shell Club will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 10 and 11 in the Potter Building of Robarts Arena, 2896 Ringling Blvd. Exotic and rare shells, artistic exhibits, and educational programs will be among the offerings.
