The Sarasota County Planning Commission will hear the proposal for a new hotel at 5810 Midnight Pass Rd. at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1 at the Sarasota County Administrative Center, 1660 Ringling Blvd.
The proposal is being brought forward by Dave Balot, who hopes to build a 112-unit hotel and restaurant on a 2.15-care parcel where the former Wells Fargo bank sits.
The meeting is open to the public.
The next step would be a potential vote by the Sarasota Board of County Commissioners. That would be held Oct. 26.
