Season is here, and honestly … I love seeing it!
If you’ve been on the Key lately, you know exactly what I’m about to say: There’s a feeling right now that’s hard to miss. Season is here, and it’s a good one.
The Village is busy, restaurants are packed, the beach looks like a postcard again, and there’s a steady hum of activity that reminds you — this is why people come here, and why so many of us never want to leave. It’s that perfect mix of energy and ease that Siesta Key does better than anywhere else.
At the Gutwein household, we’ve officially entered full spring break mode — lots of visitors, full schedules and more on the way. If you live here, you get it. You’re in the middle of your busy season with your business while everyone else is on vacation. Extra beach days, coordinating dinners, trying to fit everything in and somehow still wanting to soak up every second of it. It’s a little chaotic … but can anyone honestly complain about that? It’s yet another benefit of living in a tropical paradise. I didn’t have these “issues” when I lived in Atlanta. Translation: Life is good.
Season 2 of the Siesta Sand Live! podcast has started. I sat down with the team from Lenny’z, and it was exactly what you’d hope it would be — easy, fun, full of personality and packed with the kind of stories you get from the people who live, love and work on the island.
Lenny’z is one of those places that feels like Siesta Key, and getting to share their story was a reminder that what makes this island so special isn’t just the beach — it’s the people behind it. If you haven’t listened yet, you should. It’s a good one.
At the same time, behind the scenes with the Siesta Key Beautification Alliance, there’s a lot happening right now that should have everyone paying attention — in a good way.
We’re anxiously awaiting the next step in the process of rejuvenating our beloved island: the formation of the Siesta Key Task Force. This is an important step toward creating a true master plan for the island, and it’s something that, for the first time in a long time, feels like it’s gaining real traction.
This isn’t about changing Siesta Key — it’s about protecting what makes it special while making smart decisions about where we go from here. Better infrastructure, thoughtful design and a more cohesive look and feel in the Village — things that elevate the experience without losing the character that defines this place.
There’s a window right now where we have alignment, attention and momentum — and we’re using it.

Business has been strong, and I’m incredibly grateful for the momentum we’re seeing right now. As of March 20, 2026, the Natalie Gutwein Group holds the highest-priced sale on Siesta Key this year with the closing of 8155 Midnight Pass Road, offered at $8,999,999. It was a meaningful transaction and a great example of the level at which our market continues to perform.
In other news, have you tried the new artisanal oven-cooked pizza at Captain Curt’s? They brought in a new oven, and the flavor it puts into the pizza is incredible. I guess I’m going to have to hit the gym a little more now that I’ve discovered this island secret.
Speaking of Captain Curt’s, if you haven’t been by there in a while, do yourself a favor and check it out. Since the hurricanes, they’ve made massive changes to the property, especially at the Sniki Tiki — something you must see for yourself.
