Siesta Key’s fireworks show is always spectacular, but this year it’s going to be euphoric.
Being that it’s our first civic gathering since COVID-19 arrived will of course make it more meaningful than usual. Furthermore, it’s the island’s 30th installment of having a blast above the beach.
This, folks, will be a party.
However, as of June 22, the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce was about $5,000 shy of its minimum needs in order to pay for the fireworks show. The chamber reports that a few sponsors couldn’t participate this year, which is a common result of the pandemic. Still, a full show will go on.
Meanwhile, the chamber will likely have to dip into its reserves to cover the balance.
With that in mind, we encourage individuals to help with a donation of $100. Whether you are a local or a visitor, every dollar is going to help.
The chamber office is located in the Village at 5114 Ocean Blvd. and its hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Checks should be made payable to the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce.
Knowing how good this show is going to feel for us all, those who step up and contribute will surely feel they are getting a real bang for their buck.
