An interactive gathering for puppies being trained to be guide dogs is being held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Daiquiri Deck South, 1250 Stickney Point Rd.
A focus of the event is to socialize the puppies, introduce new sounds and environments, and practice their skills. This is also going to be an opportunity Southeastern Guide Dogs to recruit new raisers and interested applicants.
Daiquiri Deck has partnered with Southeastern Guide Dogs for the month of September to celebrate National Guide Dog month. The two Siesta Key Daiquiri Deck locations (the second one is at 5250 Ocean Blvd. in the Village) are also promoting a “round-up” fundraiser where patrons can round their bill up and have the extra money donated directly to Southeastern Guide Dogs.
