Sarasota County will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, to showcase the improvements at Nora Patterson Bay Island Park. The park is located at 946 Siesta Drive on the south side of the street, adjacent to the north bridge.
Patterson served on the Sarasota Board of County Commissioners while a Bay Island resident.
Updates to the park include ADA-compliant public restrooms and an observation deck.
Costs of the improvements were shared by the county and the city of Sarasota.
