Island Visitors~~The crystal white sands of Siesta Key never seems to run short on foot traffic. Whether you come for the weekly Drum Circle, the various beach classes, or stroll along the water, there is always something going on and interesting people to meet. Tristan willnever forget the first time he fished the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico off spectacular Siesta Beach. AERIAL HOOP Below are photos of Lee James Kirk and Marina Luna of Sarasota demonstrating part of their “Bullwhip Tango” act which mixes aerial acrobatics and bullwhip targeting on Siesta Beach recently. They merged their skills last year to create the act. (Photos by Trebor Britt)

Meet Julie, she’s from Bradenton. Julie enjoys working our at Uppercut Boxing & Fitness, mud racing with her friends and spending time with her two daughters. Julie is an Office Manager for an engineering firm and tries to visit Siesta Beach a couple times per month. (Photos by Trebor Britt)
Our other October Island Girl is Melanie and she’s from Orlando. Melanie enjoys beach volleyball, golf and surfing. She works as a Human Resources Coordinator for Darden restaurants. A graduate of Florida Community College in Jacksonville, she visits Siesta Beach several times a year. It’s her favorite place to play beach volleyball.
