These lovely mermaids traveled many sea-miles having heard of the #1 beach via their shell-phones. They love sunnng on our sugar white sand ane enjoy talking to all the visitors and residents they meet. Rumor has it that you may be able to catch a glimpse of these sirens of the sea on the shores of Siesta Beach August 3rd and 17th, most likely between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Be sure to bring your camera.

A Kanreki Celebration ~ In Japanese culture, turning 60 calls for a very special celebration. It signifies a life that has come full circle when the clock resets and a new cycle of life begins. At this point, the honoree has been around the Chinese zodiac with its 12 animal years 5 times.Dr. Marguerite Barnett, owner of Mandala Med Spa and Yoga celebrated this milestone with friends and family.She began her new life cycle with an amazing aerial performance.Undoubtedly, she’ll have something equally amazing for her Koki (when she turns 70 years old) celebration.

(Photos by Trebor Britt)	DIG THE BEACH VOLLEYBALL SERIES By Trebor BrittMore than 300 volleyball team from across the U.S. enjoyed the “Dig the Bach Volleyball Series” tournament on Siesta Key recently. Men, women and juniors were involved in highly competitive matches in several divisions. Some of the top professionals on the Domestic & World Tours have played in the “Dig the Beach” series.

JUNIOR LIFEGUARD PROGRAM By Trebor Britt This years awesome weeklong program allowed participants aged 8-16 hands-on learning experiences and character-building activities while having fun learning the fundamentals of lifeguarding. Professional Lifeguards with the Sarasota County Beach Patrol trained participants in water safety, rescue techniques, rescue paddling, competitive lifeguard events, how to identify and treat marine life, CPR and first aid.
