November 14, 1954,  Sixty five years ago, on a sunny, fall Sunday morning at 11 am, this congregation of Episcopalians – women dressed in hats and gloves, and men in suits and ties – gathered for worship for the first time on Siesta Key as the faithful community of St. Boniface Church.  Attendance that day was 66, including children. in a storefront at Stickney Point Rd. and Midnight Pass Rd. on Siesta Key.

St. Boniface is now located on a large campus at 5615 Midnight Pass Rd.  To celebrate that anniversary, the St. Boniface Sunday worship service on November 17th, 2019 replicated that of the first service 65 years ago, using liturgy from the 1928 Book of Common Prayer and service music from The Hymnal of the Protestant Episcopal Church, 1940.  A congregational brunch followed in the Community Center.
