Plastic bags will soon not to be allowed for yard waste

Sarasota County is eliminating the option to use plastic bags for yard waste materials beginning May 1. Residents may continue to use plastic bags for yard waste materials through April 28. Beach University sessions come to a close March 30

This year’s Beach University schedule come to a close at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March, 30 when Matt Brady, environmental specialist with Sarasota County, gives his presentation entitled Fire in Coastal Ecosystems. The free event takes place at the pavilion on Siesta Beach, 948 Beach Rd.
