DonnaroseQ:  Dear Donnarose, I’m in my early seventies and I’m starting to feel this pull to do more things for me now.  But that means I’ll have to start saying no to my family which would be a huge change.  I’m already feeling guilty just thinking about it.  Please advise.  ~Regards, Ann

It would be a good idea to go in the direction of that pull you’re feeling, as that’s your soul speaking to you. While it’s wonderful to do for others, excluding yourself will only work for so long, as resentment usually starts to build.  And I’ve seen people become ill where they’re forced to focus on themselves…finally. Certainly, this is not the type of balance your soul is urging you to strike.  To maintain harmony in your family and get yourself back in balance, is to start by saying no, but with love, for yourself and others. The love part is the key. Keep replacing the amount of yesses with more no’s, but with genuine loving energy attached to them. Join the family events when it’s convenient for you.  The appreciation and respect level will increase towards you since that “taken for granted, or advantaged of” effect wears off. Keep in mind you may be tested a couple of times before they believe your “no’s”.  Stay strong and firm during this testing period.  And just as it was a habit for them to constantly hear yes from you, just the same, it will become a habit for them hearing no.  So start planning those trips and buying those items for your favorite hobby.  You will find yourself really enjoying them, guilt-free.~♥

Q:  Dear Donnarose, on several occasions you’ve written that to help alter a person’s negative behavior towards us, we need to send them love and light.  How can I do such a thing when I feel such hate and anger towards my family member? ~Thanks, Talia

A: ~”If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten.” – Henry Ford
The above quote means if you don’t change your actions, you will continue to get the same results.  In this case, sending out anger energy will draw negative energy back to you.  And, the tactics you’ve tried thus far to have more peace with this person, haven’t worked. I know firsthand that sending love and light towards someone will much more often than not, raise a person’s vibrational frequency.  This in turn tends to bring that person to a higher level of awareness, changes their perspective, and noticeable positive changes in that person’s behavior begin to unfold.  It may seem like a miracle, but that’s the impact that connecting to your divine light and sending it out has on you and those around you.  So try it before you deny it.  Take some deep breaths, and visualize pouring beautiful white and pink light through this person’s head and throughout his entire body.  As you’re doing this, include thanking Archangel Michael for clearing his body and space of any dark energies, and for filling him with love.  As a result, you will begin to feel that peace you’ve been seeking.~♥
