Q: Dear Donnarose, lately I've been getting more impatient with my relationships, especially with certain family members.  Anytime an issue arises, I'm quick to jump down their throat.  This no doubt adds to the problem.  Any advice would help. ~Thank you, Karen

A: “If we get ourselves in the “Light” frame of mind, clarity to resolve issues peacefully, will increase every time.” ~Donnarose Melvin.

A common occurrence after we learn about a problem, is that our vibrational frequency tends to slow down, and our energy drops.  What typically follows is a matched lower vibration emotion like frustration, aggravation, anger, impatience, etc.  What my quote above, and Deepak Chopra's quote, “The solution is never at the level of the problem”, and even an Albert Einstein quote “Problems cannot be solved with the same mindset that created them”, all try to suggest, is before you address the issue at hand, first get to a different place energetically.  Meaning, if we stay at the low vibration we tend to reach when hearing about a problem, the probability is high that there will be a matching low vibration solution.  The latter is usually unfavorable, and tends to continue the arguing.  So in short, as I like to say, higher vibration = “higher” solution. 

So the key is to get in the practice of refraining from having the need to react immediately.  Then take whatever realistic measure you can at that moment to first get your innerself in check.  Meaning, do anything to raise your vibration before you respond to the problem.  The quickest way to raise one's vibration is to take slow breaths. 

If you can excuse yourself from the space you're in with the family member, should you choose to do this, even better.  But since you are reading this at this moment, that means you can take some preventative measures right here and now to begin raising your vibration.  If you do this, and then work on maintaining it, you can pretty much guarantee that more often than not, your reaction to future issues will come from a higher vibration.  And that means you'll come to higher resolutions.  Hence, there will be increased peace on the home front.

Q: Dear Donnarose, I feel it's important to stay current on our presidential election, but the comments about it on my Facebook page are just so negative and filled with hate.  How do we protect ourselves from absorbing all the toxic energy?  ~Regards, Marilyn

A: “Negative news for the mind, is certainly unkind.  So try to get quick updates, and leave the rest behind.” ~Donnarose Melvin

Some would say to stay off Facebook completely.  But there are some of us who enjoy putting up positive posts,  and getting the updates all in one place.  But it's important to get the least amount of exposure to the toxic news and hateful comments.  This is key during elections and anytime for that matter, as a lot of what we view and read repeatedly, seeps into our subconscious.  And if negative, it often plays a role in impacting us in damaging ways, like becoming physically ill for example.  There's all kinds of literature on this.

So a suggestion would be, during the height of certain popular news stories and elections, etc., consider clicking on “unfollow”, and also unchecking “get notifications” on your friends pages where the comments are most negative.  You can do this without “unfriending” them.  Also, if you do need to watch the news, be sure to watch it earlier and not before bedtime for the same reason above regarding our subconscious.  Dr. Wayne Dyer talked about this, where he mentioned the last 5 minutes are key before bedtime, and so to fill your mind with anything in alignment with positivity.   And each day, be sure to make the ratio of thinking, viewing and/or reading positive information outweigh any negative exposure.  It'll become habit pretty quickly.

And finally, in addition to the above measures, consider inviting Archangel Michael in daily (or whatever Higher Power you choose), and say, “Thank you for clearing my body and space of any negative energy, for protecting me with your protective shield, for keeping me safe, and filling me with love, please and thank you.  And at times during this prayer, perhaps consider burning or spraying sage in your space as well. ~♥
