Longtime Siesta Key massage therapist Connie Lewis has opened a new boutique day spa called Spa Experience Siesta Key on the second floor of 5700 Midnight Pass Rd.

A part of the local wellness community for more than 25 years, Lewis opened her first spa in 1996 and served as director. During those years, the spa was based at Davidson Plaza and then in Gulf Gate. It won four TripAdvisor Certificates of Excellence awards before Lewis closed it in 2018. However, she continued her work in the area.

Now, as 2021 gets underway, Lewis is looking ahead to growing her new spa and welcoming back many former clients and friends.

“I love Siesta Key and I know this community,” she said.

At the new Spa Experience Siesta Key, clients will find two private treatment rooms as well a third private room reserved for couples massage sessions.

“It’s wonderful to welcome back so many long-standing clients,” Lewis said. “At our new location, we can accommodate four clients at the same time.”

Her staff includes licensed massage therapists and aestheticians. Lewis, who is also both, holds a Bachelor of Science degree.

“In the coming months,” she said, “I plan to bring on a medical aesthetician, an acupuncturist, as well as chiropractic services.”

Speaking of her new venture, Lewis said what makes her spa different is that “we provide a very relaxing and supportive atmosphere.”

She explained that “as a massage therapist, I get to be what I call my client’s day-maker. People have suffered so much this past year. We take safety very seriously and we observe HEPA safety, employ UV lights, and are fully committed to maintaining a healthy and safe environment.”

She added, “Our massage treatments are tailored to each client’s needs. Our therapists and I are fully trained in the different massage treatments that we offer.”

They include therapeutic, Swedish, neuromuscular/medical, sports, and deep tissue massage.

Facial treatments are one of Lewis’ specialties. “Many of our clients come to us for facial sculpting, a treatment that uses radio frequency waves to stimulate collagen and tighten facial muscles,” she said. “We use the Beautiful Image machine that was initially developed for medical use to aid Bell’s Palsy patients.”

Known as the “lunchtime facial,” the treatment gained popularity when celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston spoke about its merits.

“It’s like a little workout for your face,” the actress told In Style Magazine.

For best results, Lewis recommends a once-a-week treatment for three weeks and then once a month for maintenance.

The spa also offers additional facial treatments and facial massages as well as specially designed treatments for hands, feet, lips and eyes.

A Reike master, Lewis offers clients Japanese Reike treatments that are designed to instill a sense of peace, security and well-being. Aromatherapy massage is another popular treatment.

“We use traditional massage and aromatic oils to ease muscles and clear the mind. It also helps to transform stress and for the re-balancing the body and mind.”

In addition to the spa’s treatments, Lewis also carries the award-winning Pevonia Botanica line of skincare treatments and products. Made in France and Switzerland, Pevonia is sold in select spas and resorts.

“It’s so wonderful to be back again and to help people as we all begin to heal,” Lewis said.

Spa Experience Siesta Key is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. All major credit cards are accepted and additional hours are available by appointment.
