Nora Patterson Bay Island Park will be closed Sept. 26-27 for landscape maintenance. Park entry will be closed to boat traffic as well. The park is located at 946 Siesta Drive, near the north bridge.

Community cleanup event is Oct. 7 in Gulf Gate neighborhood

Sarasota County will host a free community cleanup in the Gulf Gate neighborhood from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 7 to collect discarded household items, yard waste and tree trimmings.
