A Sarasota County-hosted webinar that will address the planned renourishment of the south end of Siesta Key at Turtle Beach is open to the public. It begins at 5:10 p.m. Jan. 24 and will have a question-and-answer session following the presentation.

By June 30, more than 92,000 cubic yards of sand must be hauled to the area and put in place in order to receive FEMA funding for the project. An estimated 100 dump trucks per day, beginning in March, will be delivering the sand. Hurricane Hermine in 2016 swept-away a portion of the beach, resulting in the need for the project.
